It's already over one month ago since we stayed at your beautiful Amber Guest Lodge... We miss the place and its amazing views...
We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Amber GL and from the very first moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and at ease. Thanks of course to our most friendly hosts who made us feel like this!
Every morning, breakfast was a treat [with or without eggs :-) :-)] and we enjoyed being served by the pleasant and polite staff members. While we were having a good time outdoors, they had been cleaning the rooms spic-and-span and each evening, it felt good 'to be back home'...
We even had to extend our stay, because there were lots and lots of nice places to visit in the neighbourhood of Knysna.
Everything was first-class!

I travel extensively, and have stayed in many guest houses around Southern Africa, but never have I experienced the homeliness and friendliness of Amber guest lodge. Nothing was too much trouble, and the breakfasts were outstanding. Your four star rating is well deserved.
I will have absolutely no hesitation to recommend Amber Guest lodge to anyone. And will definitely book with you when next in the area.

The warmth and hospitality displayed by hosts Ted and Jean made us really feel at home the moment we arrived. They are truly exceptional hosts with the most humble demeanour. The fruit salad they served at breakfast was the best i had ever had. The decor was very modern and the large spacious bedroom with beautiful views across the lagoon was breathtaking. The bathroom with large shower cubicle was extremely neat and clean. There were times we did not even feel like venturing into town so content we were at Amber Lodge. A definite 2 thumbs up and I most definitely would not want to stay anywhere else but at Amber when I do visit Knysna again. Thank you so much Ted and Jean.

Luxury B&B nothing is too much trouble |
Great 5 day stay with Ted and Jean Lovely hosts shared a fantastic bbq with Ted and Jean on last night crayfish to die for- good food ,good standards fantastic views across the lagoon what more could you ask for. Highly recommended

We have to say, that as well seasoned travellers in South Africa, this has to be the best guest lodge we have stayed in. Ted and Jean are such wonderful hosts, The English breakfast is scrumptious and is a real credit to Jeans cooking. The accommodation is first class, clean and sparkling, modern and of the highest standard in decor and furnishings, and the views from the lodge are stunning, especially in the evening. Needless to say we shall be returning to Amber Guest Lodge as soon as we can. A big thankyou to Ted and Jean, we had a wonderful stay.

Absolute Heaven |
The Guest Lodge exceeded all expectations. The comfortable/spacious rooms. Very neat and well kept, up market finnishing and set in an absolutely devine setting overlooking the Knysna estuaries. The photo on the website does not do it justice. We fell in love with the place. It is exceptional value for money and was ideal for our small family. The hosts Jean and Ted were unbelievable and many happy times were spent discussing issues over sundowners overlooking the estuaries with a myriad of changing colours reflecting off the water and sky. Our anniversary was made especially special with a complimentary bottle of champagne and delicious roast pork dinner done by our hosts at no extra costs. We were made to feel special and part of their family, to the extent that Ted actually drove me to a client appointment in town. Ted and Jean display the warmth and hospitality which is so much part of their Yorkshire upbringing. Attention to detail and the fact that nothing is too much in satisfying clients has now ensured that Amber Lodge will be part of our annual getaway. We were sorry to have to leave.

A nice and friendly place to stay |
We loved very much the four nights in Amber Guest Lodge : Ted and his wife are very friendly and the new Lodge is very comfortable. The local is very easy to find and to explore Knysna and other places of the Garden Route. We recommend!

I cannot speak more highly of the wonderful time we had at Amber Guest Lodge. From the moment we arrived, Ted and Jean could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The accomodation was excellent. The location is perfect. It was a pleasure to stay and we shall return asap!
